Mondial Holidays trip to Austria Jennifer Bonello, a teacher of English from Xaghra, is the winner of the Word Game series which closed on December 7.
However, it was her husband who answered the telephone about the news that she had won the Mondial Holidays trip to Austria over the New Year. By the time The Times spoke to Ms Bonello she had calmed down.
Nevertheless, when she found the note her husband left her in the staff room of the Gozo Sixth Form, she was very excited about the prize, although she wondered whether it was a joke.
Her doubts were brushed aside last week when she received her prize from Mondial Holidays in Valletta.
Ms Bonello has been trying her luck at the Word Game for years. The six winning nine-letter words were: chinstrap, interject, strongbox, appertain, godmother and regularly.
She has never been to Austria and now has the opportunity to visit Moerbisch and Lake Neusiedel, Budapest, Maria Zell, Vienna Woods, Mayerling, Seegrotte, Graz and Vienna - the highlights of the week's programme.
Her prize also includes a Lm50 MIA shopping voucher and a year's subscription to the Scrabble Club.
