Over 150 dancers, aged between four and 70, took part in a 12-hour charity dance marathon held last Sunday by the British Association of Teachers of Dancing.
The event, in aid of Caritas Malta, was held at the New Dolmen Hotel.
Dancers from the Josray Dancing School, Tony Lawrence Dance School, Slais Dance School, Happy Days Dance Studio and Mannick Dance School showed their skills in Latin American, Ballroom, Sequence, Line Dancing, Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, and free style dancing.
Anglu Fenech from Caritas Malta, thanked the BATD and all the dancers for the event. He emphasised the importance of activities such as dancing and sports, which kept young people busy and healthy and help them avoid problems such as drugs.
Caritas Malta offers a number of services to the community, among which prevention education awareness, counseling and social work intervention, HelpAge, and various drug rehabilitation programmes.
Caritas Malta relies mainly on the generosity of the public to support its wide spectrum of services. The government contributes part of the expenses incurred by its Drug Rehabilitation Project.
