Bank of Valletta has sponsored a painting competition for children organised by the Equal Partners Foundation to mark the European Year of People with Disability.
The competition entitled My Friend, My Equal was aimed at increasing awareness about the inclusion of people with disability within the community.
The bank's sponsorship was presented by John Soler, executive head operations, to Colin Galea, president of the Equal Partners Foundation, during a visit to the new Heritage Malta head office in Valletta where the exhibition is being held.
The exhibition is made up of paintings that have been contributed by children under the age of 16 who were asked to come up with works showing ways how children with disability can be included in their class or group of friends.
Since it was set up, the Equal Partners Foundation has been an advocate for inclusion and self-determination for people with disability.
The foundation offers services based in the community including schools, homes, sports clubs and other venues where such help is needed.
