Balzan FC will be sending young players Neil Frendo and Zak Grech for a loan spell to Serbian side OFK Belgrade, the Times of Malta can reveal.
Grech, an 18-year-old defender, and midfielder Frendo, 19, are two promising young players who have represented Malta at youth level over the years.
Grech and Frendo are due to leave Malta on Friday on their way to the Serbian capital where they are expected to join OFK Belgrade on loan until the end of the season.
Balzan FC is continuing to invest in Maltese young and promising players who are willing to commit and dedicate themselves to football," Vladimir Simovic, Balzan's technical director told the Times of Malta.
"After Jamie Zerafa, who is already in FK Indjija playing first team football in Serbian Division One challenger, Neil Frendo and Zak Grech are going for six months on loan to OFK Belgrade, a worldwide known football factory who produced players of the calibre Aleksandar Kolarov and Branislav Ivanovic.
"They will join their U19 squad playing in Serbian Section A alongside with giants like Red Star Belgrade and Partizan Belgrade."
