About Lm300 were stolen when a female lotto receiver in her 20s was held up by a hooded thief armed with a knife in Triq San Tumas, Luqa yesterday afternoon.
After the robbery the thief was seen getting into an Isuzu Gemini which was being driven by an accomplice. There was no one else at the lotto office at the time.
District Police Inspector Frans Micallef and CID Inspector Michael Mallia are investigating.
On November 4, a petrol pump attendant in Valletta Road, Mosta was held up by two hooded men one of whom was armed.
The two thieves had escaped in a getaway car that was being driven by an accomplice.
