From Martina Grech, of Mosta
Dear Junior News, Christmas is round the corner. I have already begun thinking about how I am going to spend my Christmas holidays.

Apart from doing my homework and studies, I am thinking of doing voluntary work such as helping my family, grandparents and other people, who live alone.

I can help by doing some errands, light housework and helping them to read some books.

I hope that my dream will come true and other Junior News readers will do the same as me.

We hope so too Martina. As you say, there are all sorts of ways even children can help people because very often what seems easy for us is quite difficult for an older or not very fit person to do. Your company will be as valuable as the jobs you too. Lots of people, who are stuck at home, long for someone to talk to. Many of them have really interesting and amusing things to say and they aren't too busy to discuss things in detail either! And you've won a Lm 5 voucher and VIP Toyland's discount card, for sending this week's star letter

From Elisa Marie, eleven
Dear Junior News, Hi! My name is Elisa Marie Calleja and I am 11 years old. On August 5 it was my mother's birthday. My family, dad, mum, my grandmother and I went to Mgarr to the Lejla Mgarrija.

There were different exhibitions, mainly of trucks, cars, motorbikes and agricultural equipment, and even a big display of vegetables and fruit. There was also a beautiful flower arrangement exhibition.

Something which amazed me a lot was a very big pumpkin, weighing about 324 kilos. It was huge! It was the biggest pumpkin I ever saw in my whole life!

A talent festival, including ghana, dances and songs, was performed in the village square. There were lots of people enjoying themselves, some eating take-away food, some chatting with their friends, some seeing the exhibitions and others following the festival. Everybody was happy! Me too!

It was one of the best evenings I had in my life. I hope you were there, Junior News. If not you should go next year.

We weren't there Elisa Marie, but thanks to your letter this is one event we will certainly look out for next year. And so will lots of people who read it. It sounds as if there was something for everyone and it's always worth looking out for such happy occasions. Now we have Christmas to look forward to and we hope you will write again and tell us about any special events you enjoyed to celebrate it

• The sender of the star letter each week will receive a Lm5 voucher to exchange and a VIP 10 per cent discount card for all toys at Toyland for a whole year!

• Send your letters, together with your full name, age and address to Junior News.
