The Youth Football Association seminar held recently covered different aspects of training and care for young players attending football nurseries.
The seminar, sponsored by Pepsi, was well attended by representatives from all youth nursery clubs.
The aim of the seminar, as explained by Youth FA president Fr Hilary Tagliaferro, was to tackle important issues that coaches and club administrators come across in their regular training and commitment at the 45 local nurseries. The draws of the Youth FA competitions for season 2002-2003 were carried out at the end of the seminar.
UEFA-licensed coach Stephen Azzopardi spoke about the relationship between the coach and the nursery administrators while Children Service Manager at Agenzija Appogg, Brian Magro, discussed child development and the prevention of child abuse. MFA official, Oliver Lautier, referred to the importance of updating registration forms at nursery clubs.
Various other points were discussed such as the Youth FA statute and the rules for the new season. Also present on the occasion was Pepsi executive Joanne Scerri Valentino.
