The youth group Youth 4 Life has gained national recognition for its voluntary work in Malta and abroad, winning the Gharfien Nazzjonali Zghazagh fis-Socjetà award.

The award, which is of Lm500 and a commemorative plaque, is organised by the Youth Section of the Ministry of Education.

A total of 15 youth organisations were nominated for this year's award and six were short listed by the selection board.

The second prize of Lm200 went to SPYS, the Salesian Pastoral Youth Service, and the third prize of Lm100 went to Generades Youth Group.

Youths@local, ZAK Tarxien and Zest Group were each presented with Lm75 in recognition of their work.
