We live in a society of information ruled by media, that is influencing our life, opinion, and culture. Unfortunately some information is not really objective and does not help young people grow up into young persons who take responsibilities within their community. Entertainment and violence are becoming the main criteria of media.

The European Youth Programme, through the European Union Programmes Unit (EUPU) - Malta gave Youth View Malta together with five partner countries - Italy, Spain, Germany, Lithuania and Romania - the possibility to start a networking project. This project will involve youths to take part as active citizens in the field of media and information to develop instruments to deliver a positive influence on society.

Youth View aims to realise three short films in conjunction with our networking partners to make youths in general think about their current lifestyles. This project is made by youths for youths.

Youth View is thus calling youths who are 15 years and older to join. During this project, Youth View will be organising various activities where youngsters can meet and learn to work together, while being active and motivated. Youths will be asked to create discussions regarding the influences media has on society.

They also will take part in workshops to learn about film production and the tools of media while visiting fields where media is produced, such as radio stations and/or TV stations. Informal meetings will also be held where the team can get to know each other while playing games, go bowling, the cinema, as well as organising a talent night.

The three film productions are expected to be of high standard and will be presented to the local media. They will also be shared with Youth View's partners in an exchange of socio-cultural education.
