The trial by jury of Anthony Seychel, 45, of Zejtun, charged with cultivating cannabis and possession of the drug started this morning.

Prosecuting lawyer Nadine Sant told the jurors how police had found over 100 plants of cannabis in his residence.

She described the second floor of his house as being a drug workshop.

Taking the witness stand Police Inspector Norbert Ciappara said the police had found 3.5 kilograms of cannabis leaves in the accused's home.
