Hats off to Lino Spiteri for his down-to-earth Talking Point (December 1).

Like many others, I am deeply saddened by the way Finance Minister John Dalli has treated people like me who have inherited property and are at present committed to a first-time sale under a konvenju.

Yes, I am not a property speculator and the decision taken by the present government is very unfair and grossly unjust especially when it is being applied retroactively. Is this the same government that we have elected on the premise that justice shall prevail let alone social conscience? What a shame!

Let us hope those persons already committed by a konvenju to sell first-time inherited property are allowed to proceed as per the conditions available prior to the recent budget.
