The Baxter International Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Baxter International Inc., has awarded a grant of $45,512 (about Lm16,750) to the Eden Foundation.

The cheque was presented by Sergio Vella, director manufacturing of Baxter Malta, to Josie Muscat, executive director and founder of the Eden Foundation.

The grant will support learning courses for facilitators in state schools working with children with cerebral palsy, training of Eden professional staff at the Peto Institute in Hungary as well as training of parents, Dr Muscat said.

In 2002, the foundation granted a total $3.6 million to various projects.

Baxter has been established in Malta since 1988 and employs 425 people at its facility at the Marsa industrial estate where it manufactures a range of disposable medical sets for the health care industry.
