Twenty-two altar boys have just completed their experience at the Vatican. Among the group were Maltese and Gozitan boys, as well as eight altar boys from Barcelona.

The Gozitan boys were Joseph Bonnici, 13, from the Cathedral parish, Daniel Piscopo. 13, from San Lawrenz parish, Joshua Caruana, 12, who is an altar boy at the Salesian sisters' chapel in Victoria, and Josef Gauci, 11, from Sannat parish, who were accompanied by Fr Roberto Gauci and seminarian Gabriel Gauci. The ten Maltese boys were accompanied by Fr Frans Bonnici, director of the Society of Altar Boys.

Fr Gauci said that the boys, who were under the direction of Mgr Angelo Comastri, used to help out during the daily morning Mass at the Basilica of St Peter, and also visited many churches, basilicas and places of interest.
