A water taxi company has announced it intends to operate 10 water taxis around Malta over the next 18 months.

Yellowjet water taxis is to launch its services next month. It will be based at Grand Harbour but will offer services all around the Maltese islands.

Its first taxi, Princess Jahzara, will be displayed at the Valletta Boat Show, which opens tonight at Dock 1 in Cospicua. The bright yellow boat can carry up to 12 passengers and has been certified to operate night and day.

The company also announced it has launched its website ( www.watertaxi.com.mt ) to allow booking on line.

The parent company is based in the UK, where it builds its boats, but it intends to transfer some manufacturing facilities to Malta.
