Middlesea Insurance, Laferla Insurance and St James hospital have concluded an agreement, enabling a smooth procedure of acceptance and discharge of insured patients.

By means of this agreement a patient who is insured under one of Middlesea Insurance plc's health insurance policies or a Laferla healthplan will not need to pay hospital fees upon discharge, as these would be payable directly by Middlesea Insurance or Laferla on the strength of the agreement signed by all parties.

The agreement was signed by Maria Bugeja for St James and Simon Anastasi, chief officer for Middlesea Insurance, and Mark Laferla, managing director of Laferla Insurance Agency, agents for Middlesea Insurance, and managing Laferla healthplans.

The agreement encompasses medical procedures and services carried out at St James Hospitals in Sliema and Żabbar and serves to facilitate direct settlement of eligible insured medical services. Furthermore, all parties have demonstrated their commitment to put the patient first in times of need without the necessity to worry about financial matters.

Mr Anastasi said Middlesea Insurance has always had an excellent relationship with St James Hospital. The agreement not only provided peace of mind but also guaranteed that a high quality medical service is provided to insured patients. Mr Laferla also said the agreement was another milestone that would continue to give unparalleled service to clients.

Ms Bugeja welcomed the initiative and thanked Middlesea Insurance and Laferla for their support.
