Għargħur 1
Lija Athletic 4
Marco Gerada's Lija chalked up the three points they needed against Għargħur to secure promotion with one match to spare.
This result, however, also sealed Għargħur's fate as they were relegated along with Gozo FC.
Lija knew only a victory would do and after just four minutes an Antoine Sacco cross-shot finished just wide while efforts from Andrew Scicluna and Jean Paul Scerri were blocked by Mark Aquilina.
Lija surged ahead on the half hour when Paul Scerri's fine shot flew into the back of the net.
Lija were in total command also after the restart and on 53 minutes they were awarded a penalty for a foul by Jonathan Galea on Keith Darmanin, the latter duly converting from the spot.
Lija increased their lead ten minutes later when Beppe Antignolo volleyed home from a Lydon Cilia cross and Matthew Borg added a fourth on 67 minutes.

On 24 minutes, Alistair Camilleri fired just wide for Sta Venera, but the Lightnings were not to be denied on 28 minutes when in a swift break Mark Grech made it 1-1.
But, the Lightnings' hopes were jolted on 48 minutes when keeper Franklin Azzopardi was red-carded for a foul on Luke Cesareo.
St Andrew's soon made their numerical advantage count and on 64 minutes Andrew Camilleri Kamsky shot past substitute keeper Warren Cuschieri.
St Andrew's extended their lead on 71 minutes through a Cesareo goal but the Lightnings pulled one back from Grech four minutes later.

Birżebbuġa SP 1
Gżira United 2
A last-gasp Antoine Galea goal saw Gżira keep alive their hopes for a place in Division One next season.
Birżebbuġa took the lead after just five minutes, following a fine solo move by Ronnie Celeste. But, Gżira's response was immediate. A Joe Gatt free-kick was saved by Gabriel Mansueto and a Keith Bonello shot was deflected to a corner.
The Maroons' pressure paid off on 24 minutes when Andre White scored the equaliser.
Just before the break, Mansueto did well to keep out Mansueto's effort as Gżira ended the first half on the offence.
They held the initiative after the break and Mansueto had to charge out of his goal to halt Richard Attard's free run.
Birżebbuġa needed all points to maintain their outside promotion chances and again went close through Camenzuli.
However, it was Gżira who struck the winner three minutes into added time when substitute Galea placed the ball beyond Mansueto's reach to break the deadlock.
