Preparations and rehearsals are in full swing for the Christmas Concert which the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will be presenting with the participation of The New Choral Singers on December 22 at 7.30 p.m. at the Parish Church in Floriana.

The MPO Annual Christmas Concert, which this year is being directed by Mro Michael Laus, forms part of the Orchestra’s outreach programme to the community.

Among a line-up of classic carols and seasonal music, the programme also includes a vocal and choral adaptation by Richard Shephard of Arcangelo Corelli’s Christmas Cantata, taken from the composer’s famous Concerto Grosso in G Minor.

Patrons present for the concert will also be treated to hot chocolate and mince pies, courtesy of James Caterers.

Entrance to the concert is free but there will be a retiring collection in aid of Caritas Malta.
