I refer to the comment in On The Dot (December 19) about the likelihood of pickpocketing at the Valletta bus terminus. It is already happening!

The other day, I intercepted a woman trying to open someone’s backpack as we were waiting to board a bus there. I informed Arriva of the incident and suggested that their staff be on the lookout, especially when the terminus is crowded.

Anyone wearing a bag on their back is particularly vulnerable because the thief can come up behind them without being seen, as in the case I witnessed. A close watch is indeed advisable!
