Vodafone has followed the success of its Smart Android phone with the Smart II, its affordable alternative to high-end smartphones on the market.

Designed by Vodafone in collaboration with leading manufacturers, Smart II is ideal for first-time smartphone buyers.

It features a 3.2-inch touchscreen in a compact sleek shell, and offers all the features and connectivity of a smartphone for the price of a feature phone.

It comes with Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread pre-loaded, allows access to the Google Play Store, a 3.15 megapixel camera, wi-fi and Bluetooth connectivity, up to 7.2Mbps internet connectivity, e-mail and MMS. It has an optimised user interface that smartphone beginners will find very useful, and comes with Facebook and Twitter applications pre-loaded.

“Smart II has mastered the best compromise between specifications, user experience and cost, making it a very competitive phone,” Vodafone terminals executive Lara Selvagi explained.
