One of the newer arrivals on the Maltese music scene, alternative rock band Planet Seed was originally formed in 2010 by lead vocalist and guitarist Klinsmann Coleiro and bassist Liam Spiteri in, of all places, the locker room at their workplace.

After drafting in veteran musicians Stefan Farrugia on guitar and drummer Chris Galea to complete the line-up, the band started to hone its sound further, the result of which is debut single It’s Gonna Be OK, which was released some weeks ago.

Banking on their collective experience in the music scene to pursue their dream, Planet Seed is a common vehicle for all four musicians to pursue a different goal as a band. Inside of four minutes, It’s Gonna Be OK blends shades of U2, Coldplay and even American post-grunge into one driving melodic rock number that has succeeded in claiming its own space on the Maltese airwaves as well as a few foreign ones too.

According to the band, the name Planet Seed is a metaphor, with ‘planet’ symbolising the music business and the ‘seed’ representing the band, and ultimately its efforts to reach out to the world.
