Two suicide bombers have blown themselves up in a square in central Damascus, causing casualties, Syrian state-owned Al-Ikhbariya TV has reported.

The station showed footage of broken shop facades and mangled cars in central Marjeh Square. Ambulance workers were seen carrying the wounded from the busy square.

Suicide attacks and car bombs have become common in Damascus.
