The designs of the first IT building of Smart City Kochi, a joint venture between the Government of Kerala (in India) and Smart City, were recently unveiled, ready for construction to begin next month.
Together with Smart City Malta, Smart City Kochi forms part of a network of interconnected business townships across the world. These townships are developed and managed by Smart City, the international business parks arm of Dubai Holding, which seeks to replicate the astounding success witnessed by the 11 business parks across five sectors in Dubai. These business parks attract 50,000 knowledge workers every day.
Abdullatif Al Mulla, CEO of Smart City said: “We are proud to be launching the construction of Smart City Kochi and to be expanding our international network of townships. The first building will have four floors on an area of 56,000 square metres and will be a LEED platinum-rated green building.
“Like Smart City Malta, Smart City Kochi is designed to be an international live-work-play business township with localised practices where knowledge-based companies, education institutions, professionals and entrepreneurs operate in, connect and benefit from the global network.”
