I am a follower of Maltese news in Australia and recently there was a discussion regarding the Maltese flag. Apparently, there is a movement in favour of dropping the George Cross in favour of the eight- pointed star of the Knights of Malta.

Both symbols are very well known and respected in the history of Malta and if any changes do occur I would suggest that both are retained in the Maltese flag.
