Mosta FC will be looking to Ivan Zammit to lift them from the doldrums after appointing him as their new coach for the next two years.
The Blues just managed to keep afloat in the Premier League last season after emerging victorious from a play-off against Division One hopefuls Gzira United to prolong their stay in the top flight.
Last season, Mosta were under the charge of Peter Smith.
Yesterday, Zammit attended a Mosta annual general meeting during which members were informed of the club’s latest developments that included the appointment of former Nigeria international Tijani Babangida as technical director.
In October last year, Zammit was called in by Valletta FC to take the role of technical director. He later assumed full responsibility of the team and led the Citizens to the runners-up spot despite an unfortunate run of injuries to key players.
Zerafa back at Qormi
Tarxien Rainbows confirmed that Jacques Scerri will be their new coach for the new season.
Scerri, formerly of Premier League newcomers Pembroke Athleta, signed a three-year contract and takes over from Clive Mizzi who left Tarxien after three years in charge of the team.
Mizzi was linked with a move to Qormi FC last week but yesterday the job went to Jesmond Zerafa who fills the void left by Mark Miller.
This will be Zerafa’s third time to coach Qormi in his career.
