Jean-Paul Mollicone, B.Eng. (Hons), was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy for research in theoretical and applied mechanics at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Sapienza University of Rome.

His research involved the study of turbulence dynamics in separated flows through the use of direct numerical simulations. The PhD thesis outlines the use of a generalised form of the Kolmogorov equation for the analysis of separated flows.

Dr Mollicone carried out his pre-university studies at Stella Maris College, Gzira, and at De La Salle College, Cottonera. He graduated with an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Malta.

Following his PhD, he is currently continuing his research career with both Sapienza University of Rome and the University of Padua.
