Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja has been awarded with an honorary membership of the Royal Academy of Music.
The membership may be conferred only upon distinguished musicians who were not students at the academy. It is only limited to 300 living persons.
Other musicians who received this award include Mendelssohn, Liszt, Stravinsky and Casals.
The Duchess of Gloucester will be giving out the award in July.
Calleja is now known as one of the world's best tenors having headlined some of the most renowned operas around the world. Last October he was elected into the Board of Directors of the European Academy of Music Theatre.
