A four-year-old boy was injured after he was run over by a car in Psaila Street, Birkirkara this morning.

The injuries are not serious, the police said.

The incident happened close to the Eurosport outlet when the boy is believed to have crossed the road. Witnesses said the 63-year-old driver of the Opel vehicle is suffering from shock.

Police are investigating.
