Mark Wood has taken over as editor of The Sunday Times of Malta. He succeeds Steve Mallia, who is moving on after serving in the post for almost a decade.

Mr Wood entered journalism in 1992 after graduating in social work administration from the University of Malta.

Since 2003 he has occupied a number of senior editing positions at the newspaper’s sister publication the Times of Malta, including night editor and deputy editor. He is married and has a son aged 14.
