A six-year-old boy was grievously injured yesterday evening when he was hit by a car in Mellieħa.

The accident happened at Triq il-Marfa at 7.30pm.

The police said the German boy was hit by a Mercedes Benz that driven by a 27-year-old man from Mosta.

The boy was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

An inquiry is being held.
