The Sliema Philharmonic Society will today perform a vocal and musical Christmas concert entitled Dies Natalis Jesu at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish church, Sliema.

Singers Nicole Frendo, Mark Mifsud and Lara Dimech and the parish choir will also participate.

The band, led by its musical director Lesley Tabone, will open the programme with Brian Sadler’s Holiday Adventure. Frendo will interpret John Williams’s Christmas Star, Caro Gesù Bambino arranged by Raymond Sciberras, and Let it Snow, arranged by Andrew Calleja.

Dimech will sing Sammy Bartolo’s popular Maltese song Kemm hu sabiħ by Paul Abela, arranged for band by Aurelio Belli. She and Mark Mifsud will also perform in a duet of popular Italian song Vivo per lei.

The programme will end with all three singers, the parish choir and the Sliema band interpreting Cliff Richards’s Millennium Prayer.

The concert is being held today at 7 pm at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish church, Sliema. It is organised by the Sliema Philharmonic Society together with the Franciscan Friars and Feast Commission in collaboration with the Sliema local council.
