A man was grievously injured and another suffered slight injuries in a traffic accident in Birżebbuġa on Thursday night.

The police said the accident happened in Triq Ħal Far at 10.15pm.

The 21-year-old driver, from Marsa, of a Volkswagen Golf suffered grievous injuries when his car crashed with a Hyundai Accent that was being driven by a 54-year-old man from Qormi.

The Hyundai subsequently crashed into a Suzuki Swift that was being driven by a 27-year-old woman from Kirkop. The Swift’s passenger, a 58-year-old man from Kirkop, was slightly injured.

Assistance from the Civil Protection Department had to be sought.
