The second edition of the Accordion Festival is being organised by the Santa Maria Accordion Band today and tomorrow.

The aim of the festival is to foster a love for the instrument and for the public to better understand what the accordion is. A popular misconception is that it is just used for folklore music but, in reality, it is used in many genres of music, including classical music.

Taking part in the festival will be several local and foreign solo performers and the Akki-Harmonists e.V. from Germany.

The festival is supported by the Valletta 2018 Foundation.

The festival is being held today and tomorrow at the Corinthia Palace Hotel and Spa, Attard, at 7pm. Entrance is free but booking is required by SMS on 7925 9508 or via e-mail on accordionbandmalta@gmail.com. For more information, visit the Santa Maria Accordion Band on Facebook.
