Dr Mark Xuereb, o.b.o. Crisis Resolution Malta, writes:
Farewell Nadine, a formidable and altruistic crisis professional. I first met Nadine in 2009. She wanted to meet me and she waited for a chat outside my gym. Her altruism, finesse, bubbliness and intrinsic curiosity struck me immediately and continued to do so for the rest of the nine years I was fortunate enough to know her.
“I want to help those who suffer from emotional trauma,” she explained with a smile. Nadine was just the person I needed to start up Malta’s first crisis team to help those in psychological distress. The rest is history.
Nadine went through great pains to help save suicidal people from the brink of death and she managed to heal many lives and relationships. She was always very humble about it and made it a point to follow up her clients with much care and concern.
Her background in psychotherapy, management and personal development were key to her successful interaction with those in need. She was a team player and liked people and people liked her.
Despite being diagnosed with cancer some three years ago, she never gave up. She actively and passionately contributed to our discussions, conferences and client management to the very end. We were fortunate to have her and to learn from her. Knowing her, I am sure she will guide us from above to continue saving lives.
Our deepest condolences go to her loved ones. Goodbye dearest, until we meet again, please help us to help those in need just like you did.
