A 45-year-old woman who lives in Valletta was grievously injured today when she was hit by a car in Valletta.

The police said the accident happened in South Street at 2.15pm.

The victim, who is Peruvian, was hit by a Ford Ka that was being driven by a 28-year-old woman from Paola.

She was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Police investigations are continuing.
