Balzan are set to continue their BOV Premier League commitments next month without the services of winger Alex Alves who is on the brink of signing for Al Akhdoud, who are currently playing in the third tier of Saudi Arabia.
The 25-year-old announced through his social media account that he is going to leave the Premier League club in search of a new adventure while Balzan thanked him for his services.
Timesofmalta.com understands that the Brazilian has not yet signed with the club but he will first move to the Asian country to under go a medical test before completing the deal.
Alves was a key figure at Balzan this season, having scored seven goals in 17 games in all competitions including in team's 2-2 draw against Hibernians in the Premier League on Monday.
The Brazilian's first club in Malta was Tarxien Rainbows, with whom he featured in 65 games, scoring 11 goals while registering 11 assists, while with the Reds he scored 16 goals and had 9 assists in 46 games.
Meanwhile, midfielder Yudai Miyamoto will join Senglea Athletic on a loan deal in January.
The Japanese player failed to break through into the first team, having only played one game - against Qormi, in the FA Trophy.
Senglea are eager to get the ground running in the top-tier as they are currently bottom in the standings with just four points to show.
