I, for one, am not represented by this so-called Attard Residents Environmental Network, which is campaigning against the Central Link Project. This has been in gestation for decades and we look forward to its execution.
The internationally-recognised way to get passing-through traffic out of town centres is to divert it on to a by-pass. Presently, Attard village core is the by-pass, with vehicles of all sizes shooting past at breakneck speed in narrow Main Street and Valletta Road, damaging parked cars and polluting us with noise and fumes.
Yes, we almost certainly do need an underground rail system to improve public transport in this crowded island but the present road improvements are most welcome and very overdue.
