The 13th edition of Gaulitana: A Festival of Music continues tomorrow with two events.

The first event, entitled Gaulitagħna (part of the Musicalive series), by the Forte Trio Piano Trio from Kazakhstan, will be held at the Ċentru Ġesù Nazzarenu night shelter, Xagħra, at 5pm.

This is the first time that a festival event will perform solo and duo music by the Kazhak ensemble directly in a community home for the benefit of residents of the night shelter.

The second event is a talk entitled ‘Women in Music’ – the first in this series of talks featuring female artists taking part in this edition of Gaulitana – at the University of Malta’s Gozo Campus, in Xewkija, at 7.30pm.

The speakers are violinist Marcelline Agius, who performed a solo role in the festival’s symphonic opening concert, flutist Clara Galea, who will collaborate with artist-in-residence Alexander Frey next week, and composer Aktoty Raymkulova, who will have one of her pieces performed by the Forte Trio on Wednesday.

Attendance to both events is free. For more  information call 7703 8971, e-mail gaulitanafestival@gmail.com or visit www.gaulitanus.com.
