During a recent visit to the Polin, the museum of Polish Jews history, I came across a profound inscription that once stood at the Great Synagogue in Tłomackie Street, Warsaw:

“May the name of the Almighty ensure that love, brotherhood, serenity and harmony dwell among us.”
