Resurfacing works have been carried out on large parts of the road between Sliema Ferries and Balluta as a short-term measure because of the road's terrible state, Roads Minister Ian Borg said.

He said Infrastructure Malta recognised the needs of residents in every locality as it planned short and long-term. 

Extensive works on Manwel Dimech and Sir Arturo Mercieca streets in Sliema will be taken in hand 'soon' he said, and Tower Road, where the short-term works have been carried out, is earmarked for more extensive works in the future along with High Street.

Other works will be announced shortly.
