A 50-year old man was arrested on Monday over drug trafficking, following several weeks of observation by the Drugs Squad, police said.

The man, originally from Marsa but living in Valletta, was observed over several days selling synthetic drugs outside an establishment in Triq N. Isouard, Marsa, according to police.

Several sachets of the same drug, ready for sale, were found on his person together with empty plastic bags and a large amount of cash.

The man is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday on charges of drug trafficking and possession. Police investigations are ongoing.
