A ship on its way to Malta loaded with €70 million worth of cannabis was intercepted by the Greek Coast Guard on Wednesday.

The Tanzanian-flagged ship, a tugboat, was headed to Malta for repairs. It was found loaded with seven tons of processed cannabis in its hold

It, had been under surveillance for more than 48 hours after having set sail from Nicosia on November 30.

It was escorted to Aghia Galini and its crew members were arrested.
