A man was grievously injured on Thursday while using a mechanical plough in a field in Rabat.

The police said the accident happened in Triq Għajn Qajjet at 9.15am.

The 88-year-old, who lives in Rabat, was given first aid by a medical team on site and then taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

The police are investigating.
