Are you vain?

I don’t feel I am vain. I do, however, realise the importance of being well kept, especially in my line of work.

Do you like what you see when you look in the mirror in the morning? [inspired by Ira’s song The Person I Am!]

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. After a shower and a face cleansing, I feel ready to face the world!

Do you consider yourself to be well groomed?

Well, I try to be. I never leave the house without a shower even before training. I love showering. I also take care of my skin and my hair but I’m not high-maintenance at all. I just believe prevention is better than cure. I believe in taking care of myself on the inside.

What does your daily beauty ritual consist of?

Nothing major. A shower every morning and evening. I cleanse, tone and moisturise daily. And I like to keep my skin moist by using lots of body moisturiser.

Do you eat a healthy and balanced diet? Or at least try to?

I drink two litres of water religiously. I eat as less fat as I possibly can. I eat my servings of vegetables and fruit daily. I am slightly gluten intolerant and can’t eat dairy at all, so I’m pretty limited as to what I eat, which is ironic because I absolutely adore food. So yes, you can say I eat plenty of healthy food.

I also have a personal trainer.

What beauty/health products do you ALWAYS carry with you?

Are you vain?

I think I am! Being on national television every evening might sound glamorous but it also has its downsides such as making sure you look smart and well groomed. Thus, at 7.55pm I do take a quick peek to make sure my tie is tied properly.

Do you like what you see when you look in the mirror in the morning?

Never thought about it, actually, as I’ve gotten used to seeing the same thing in the mirror. So, I guess so.

Recently, I also noticed the first signs of ageing and my first wrinkles are starting to stare at me from the mirror.

Do you consider yourself to be well groomed?

Yes. I follow all the grooming tips but one – biting my nails.

What does your daily beauty ritual consist of?

Every morning I take a shower, wash my hair, make sure my hair is well styled and apply face moisturiser. Given that I have to wear make-up every day, shaving is a daily mandate. I do it at work early in the afternoon. When I get home, usually late in the evening, I remove my make-up, apply toner and face cream.

Do you eat a healthy and balanced diet? Or at least try to?

Yes, I am very concerned about my health and try to eat as healthy as possible. I am anti-junk food and try to avoid carbs in the evening. For breakfast I have wholegrain cereal and fresh orange juice. Throughout the day I also nibble on nuts and fruit every hour or so. For lunch, I usually have a light healthy lunch such as a chicken or tuna wrap. When I arrive home late in the evening, I eat another light, healthy meal.

How do you keep fit? And how often do you exercise?

I strongly believe that staying fit helps me be a happy and healthier person. I go for a jog twice or three times weekly and as of recently, I sweat it out in a spinning class early in the morning. I found spinning to be an all-round workout which helps me relieve all the stress.

Are you vain?

It depends on my mood... sometimes I go through a phase of checking myself in the mirror every five minutes while, at other times, I am so comfortable in my skin that I don’t really care about how I look.

Do you like what you see when you look in the mirror in the morning?

No! Squashed face, droopy eyes, definitely not a nice sight...

Do you consider yourself to be well groomed?

It depends on the occasion. For TV or any public appearance I always do my utmost to look the best I can. However, I tend to dress down at work and for my daily life: no make-up or fancy hairdos... What you see is what you get.

What does your daily beauty ritual consist of?

Definitely two showers a day and in so doing I cleanse, tone and moisturise.

Do you eat a healthy and balanced diet? Or at least try to?

I love cooking. I love reading about food and their advantages, so I try to practise what I read. And I am always trying new grains and vegetables. However, I do indulge in sin foods too; not too often but often enough to keep me happy.

How do you keep fit?

I try to walk for 35/40 minutes every morning on weekdays. I also added a bit of a jog lately, so I walk and alternate with a jog... but it’s getting too hot.

Continue this sentence: I would NEVER leave the house without... my mobile, keys and purse... and my spectacles or contact lenses. No make-up is fine; actually I look forward to summer because my make-up bag remains untouched since I won’t have a programme.

What beauty/health products do you ALWAYS carry with you?

Suncream and a hat for the beach.
