Fresh from being named Best Metal Band for the second year running at the 2012 Malta Music Awards, leading local death metal act Beheaded will embark on a 16-date tour across Europe alongside US metal veterans Pyrexia.

The American band, recognised as one of the godfathers of New York death metal alongside giants Suffocation, was coincidentally founded in 1991, the same year Beheaded was formed. Both bands are signed to Unique Leader Records.

The Castigating Europe 2013 tour is being organised by Holland-based Doomstar booking agency. The agency recently added Beheaded to its roster, following the release of the Maltese band’s acclaimed fourth full-length album Never to Dawn.

The tour kicks off in Tilburg, Holland, on March 1 and ends in Wermelskirchen in Germany on March 16, with gigs in France, Belgium, England, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Italy and Switzerland in between.
