The fourth Pentasia Champions League five-a-side football tournament came to a close recently at St Catherine’s School Sports Ground.

Since its inception in 2007, the league has gone from strength to strength, bringing together the best talent in Malta’s iGaming and IT industries.

The tournament now features 36 teams, all battling it out across two divisions and in the Pentasia Cup. With more teams and better players, this has been the most fiercely-contested season in the league’s history.

Betsafe led Gambling Affiliation by a single point to be crowned winners of Division A. The runners-up made up for their league disappointment by tasting cup glory after beating Power Poker in the final of the Pentasia Cup.

NOIQ FC dominated Division B, finishing nine points ahead of nearest rivals Phoenix.

In a statement, the organisers said the league has gained in popularity in the last four years thanks to its ability to bring together companies from the iGaming and IT industries and promote a healthy level of competition among colleagues, peers and rivals.
