Having read the article detailing the claims over the private life of Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera, I must confess that I am appalled by what I read. Whatever the appeasing factors claimed by the magistrate, it is no way for a member of the judiciary to behave.

A magistrate is an icon figure, especially for the younger set. There is absolutely no excuse for a person in such a position of authority to behave in the manner as is being alleged in the court case. This makes a mockery of the judiciary in Malta.

I was a very close friend of the magistrate’s father. We grew up together and had many things in common. From the testimony given in court, she does no justice to his memory.
