• A blood donation session will be held at Gozo General Hospital Outpatients Department today from 8am to 1pm.

• My Little Pony: The Movie (U) will be screened at Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30pm.

• The Oasi Group of Volunteers is organising a bazaar at St Francis Square, Victoria, (opposite the church) until March 2, Monday to Saturday from 8.30am to 12pm and from 4.30 to 7pm. Donations of items are appreciated. Anyone interested in joining the Oasi Volunteers can call on 2156 3333.

• To commemorate the Apparition of Our Lady of Lourdes, Masses will be said at Lourdes church, Għajnsielem, today at 5.15am and 8.30am, 1pm, 3.30pm and 5pm and tomorrow, on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 5.15am and 9am and at 1pm, 3.30pm and 5pm. Devotees may visit the sanctuary until 7.30pm.

• MUSEUM superior Joe Fenech will lead a prayer and catechesis meeting at Our Lady of Pompeii church, Victoria, on Thursday from 10 to 11am. All are welcome.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will be holding a prayer evening at St Augustine church, Victoria, on Saturday at 8pm, followed by Mass at midnight.

• The Victoria and the Xagħra Scout Groups will be celebrating Founder’s Day during the weekend between Saturday and next Sunday. On Saturday an outdoor district activity will be held. On Sunday there will be a church parade and Mass at the Xagħra Basilica at 9.45am.

• Special events are being held on the anniversary of Il-Ħaġar Museum in Victoria which opened its doors on February 23, 2013. On Saturday, there will be the inauguration of the Joseph Vella Archive at 6.30pm. The programme includes the performance of his Cantilena, together with a lecture in English about the earliest Maltese poem. An exhibition highlighting Vella’s life will be opened on Friday at 6.30pm. It will be preceded by a short square piano recital and a ‘Composer Speaks’ session. A Thanksgiving Mass will be held at St George’s Basilica next Sunday, followed by a celebratory luncheon at Ta’ Ċenċ.
