Clive Farrugia was in top form during the weekend when he won the MSG Skeet Selection organised by the Malta Shooting Sport Federation at the Bidnija ranges.

The two-day competition was contested over 125 clays and another round of 25 in the barrage final.

Farrugia managed a remarkable score of (24, 24, 23, 24, 24) 119, an ISSF qualifying standard, and another 24/25 in the final for a total of 143/150.

The result and performance are considered as among the best ever for Farrugia in the sport and an ideal build-up to the ISSF World Cup, Slovenia leg, on the third week of July.

Darren Vella finished second behind Farrugia with a score of 114 and another 23 in the final for an overall 137. Joe Muscat placed third with (112+22) 134.

On Sunday, the MSSF ranges will host the Shoot and Win Open Dritta with the participation of members and non-members at Bidnija.

The Malta Trap Grand Prix will be staged on the weekend of July 16 and 17, one week before the second Malta International Double Trap Grand Prix where the participation of top shooters from various countries has already been guaranteed.

Malta will be represented by William Chetcuti and Nathan Lee Xuereb in the Double Trap shoot.
