What happened to the 22 founder members of one of the most popular champion-ships in the world of football?

Arsenal
The Gunners have won the Premiership title three times in 1998, 2002 and 2004 under the management of Arsene Wenger. They finished runners-up on five other occasions.

In their victorious years of 1998 and 2002, Arsenal did the double by claiming the FA Cup as well. They also won the FA Cup in 1993, 2003 and 2005 and the League Cup in 1993.

Aston Villa
The Villans are one of the ever presents of the Premier League. They finished as runners-up in the inaugural season in 1993. Villa were the losing FA Cup finalists in 2000 and won the League Cup in 1994 and 1996.

Blackburn Rovers
With Ken Dalglish at the helm, Blackburn won the championship in 1995 and finished second in 1994.

The sequence of seasons in the Premier League was interrupted from 1999 to 2001.

In 2002 they lifted the League Cup.

Chelsea
Like Arsenal, the Blues did really well these past 20 years. They attained the championship in 2005, 2006 and 2010. The first two titles came under the management of Jose Mourinho. They also finished runners-up on four occasions.

In 2010, under Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, Chelsea claimed the double. They won the FA Cup on four other times in 1997, 2000, 2007 and 2009. They also lifted the League Cup in 1998, 2005 and 2007.

Coventry City
The Sky Blues were members in the first nine years but than misfired badly.

Next season, they’ll play in League One after demotion from the Championship.

Crystal Palace
The Eagles were present on four different occasions and each time lasted one season.

Everton
Another ever-present side, winning the FA Cup in 1995.

Ipswich Town
Ipswich Town played in the Premier League between 1992 and 1995 and from 2000 to 2002.

Leeds United
The Yorkshire club stayed in the top flight for 12 years between 1992 and 2004.

They finished third in 2000.

Liverpool
The ever-present Reds have never won the Premier League title, finishing second in 2002 and 2009. They lifted the FA Cup in 2001 and 2006 along with the League Cup in 2001, 2003 and 2012.

Manchester City
The Citizens, so close to winning the Premier League title after winning Monday’s derby, were present on three different occasions: 1992-1996, 2000-01 and from 2002 to date.

The best attainment was third place last season during which they also emerged victorious in the FA Cup.

Manchester United
United are the most adorned side in the top flight. An ever-present side, they won 12 Premiership crowns – 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011. They won the double in 1994, 1996 and 1999.

United also won the FA Cup in 2004 and the League Cup in 2006, 2009 and 2010.

All these honours came under the management of Alex Ferguson.

Middlesbrough
Boro attained their top-flight status in 1992-93, 1995-97 and 1998-2009.

Carried the League Cup in 2004.

Norwich City
Norwich City’s stays in the Premier League came in 1992-95, 2004-05 and this season.

Nottingham Forest
Forest’s presences came in 1992-93, 1994-97 and 1998-99.

Oldham Athletic
The Latics’ membership was attained from 1992 to 1994.

Queens Park Rangers
The Londoners are present in the Premier League this season. Their other stays came from 1992 to 1996.

Sheffield United
The Blades enjoyed the first two seasons of the Premier League and another campaign in 2006-07.

Sheffield Wednesday
The Owls’ stay came from 1992 to 2000.

Southampton
The Saints enjoyed Premier League football from the first campaign to 2005.

They will be back next season after winning direct promotion from The Championship.

Tottenham Hotspur
The Spurs are also an ever-present club, winning the FA Cup in 1991 and the League Cup in 1998 and 2008.

Wimbledon
The Dons are the only Premier League side to walk the plank to non-League football. Their stay in the Premier League came from 1992 to 2000.
