A team from St Thomas More College Secondary School, Santa Lucia, comprising Nicole Ana Sammut, Mariah Borg and Alessia Amoroso, won the Malta Junior Science Olympiad. The trophy was presented at an awards ceremony held at St Ignatius College Secondary School, Ħandaq. St Michael Foundation placed second and the team from St Theresa College Secondary School, Mrieħel, placed third.

The second edition of the science olympiad was organised by the Department of Curriculum Management in collaboration with the European Commission Representation in Malta.

The awards were presented by acting head at the European Commission representation Diane Spiteri and Gaetano Bugeja, director, Department of Curriculum Management.
